@  Spike : (23 Oct - 09:45) They'll still be nursing their hang overs from post match drinks at the weekend
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 09:47) Sussex hasn't even put the weekend game up for the predictions. It must be sleepy in Luton
@  wimbohatter : (23 Oct - 09:52) Morning Richard and Spike: Richard, very happy hatters I would have thought; well at least I am very happy.
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 09:55) Morning Bill
@  wimbohatter : (23 Oct - 09:57) Hi Spike; Just tried to buy some advance seats for Exeter away; all gone and a very open windy terrace, never mind will make the best of it I am sure.
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 09:58) There might be somebody willing to swap, a lot of the youngsters like to stand
@  wimbohatter : (23 Oct - 09:59) Are you at a game this Saturday Spike?
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 10:00) I don't think I'm going to have time to get to Donny but may visit a local game during the weekend
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:01) Hi Bill - how are you and the boys?
@  wimbohatter : (23 Oct - 10:03) Hi Richard, all doing well thanks. How are you and Zena keeping; must be getting warmer by now in Melbourne.
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:13) Hi Bill - how are you and the boys?
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:13) I should say 'young men'?
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 10:15) Sam Burgess has won the RL International Player of the Year
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:17) Didn't see that - where was it?
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:17) Well deserved though. An amazing player
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 10:18) Just seen it posted on Twitter by a reporter from Dewsbury, where he is from.
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:20) First English player to win the award!!
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:21) “Sam was wonderful for England in the World Cup last year and his performances for South Sydney through the NRL season were first-class, all the way to his Clive Churchill Medal effort in the grand final against Canterbury-Bankstown,” the RLIF chairman, Nigel Wood, said. “He is a worthy recipient and deserves to be recognised for his achievements over the past year on the international stage as well as in the NRL competition.”

Burgess held off strong competition from fellow nominees including fellow Englishman James Graham, and Australian stars Johnathan Thurston and Jarryd Hayne.
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 10:21) He is. Might be a while before another one wins it!
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:21) Jarryd Hayne has left RL to go to the USA to try for American Football - no team, no contract - just going to try out!!!
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:22) James Graham was also brilliant during the year over here and played very well for England. He could win it - still young enough and good enough
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 10:23) It will be peculiar seeing him in the fancy dress.
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 10:25) Singer Alvin Stardust dies aged 72
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:25) Yes. Brave move with no idea of who or where he may play!! Also no indication of what position?? Aussie Rules guys have gone over there for kicking - some with success, but RL is more about tackling.
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:26) Or in J H case - running!!!
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:26) But most American runners can do 100 m bloody quick! Many started as sprinters at college
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:27) Sad news re Alvin.
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 10:27) Good luck to him, maybe he just wants a change
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 10:27) or a break from rugby
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:27) Previous winners
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:28) 2008 Billy Slater, Melbourne Storm and Australia
2009 Jarryd Hayne, Parramatta Eels and Australia
2010 Todd Carney, Sydney Roosters and Australia
2011 Billy Slater, Melbourne Storm and Australia
2012 Cameron Smith, Melbourne Storm and Australia
2013 Sonny Bill Williams, Sydney Roosters and New Zealand
2014 Sam Burgess,South Sydney Rabbitohs and England
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 10:29) Is it a first for a South Sydney player as well
@  MelbourneHatter : (23 Oct - 10:40) Bed time - goodnight alll
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 10:40) Goodnight, love to Zena
@  LakeCountyHa... : (23 Oct - 12:01) Hello bonny lads.
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 12:02) Afternoon
@  CURLZ : (23 Oct - 12:03) Hi guys.
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 12:04) Hi Curlz, where have you been?
@  CURLZ : (23 Oct - 12:13) Tablet playing up, or more to the point the battery. Im ok lads
@  Spike : (23 Oct - 12:17) Good to hear you are ok. Thought you might have still been celebrating the win in the North East. lol
@  CURLZ : (24 Oct - 11:20) Afternoon Chaps.
@  Spike : (24 Oct - 12:32) Afternoon
@  Spike : (24 Oct - 13:07) Caterham F1 team has gone into administration. Is there anything that Sky touches not fall apart?! Next news will be Sky money only goes to Ferrari, McClaren and Mercedes
@  EricW1959 : (24 Oct - 14:33) Caterham F1 has nothing to do with Sky.
@  Spike : (24 Oct - 14:35) No but they could do with a bit of Skys money that is pumped into F1. The same as grassroots football could do with some of the Sky money the PL get.
@  Spike : (24 Oct - 14:37) As usual though the teams that get the money are the ones that could manage without it
@  EricW1959 : (24 Oct - 14:42) Sky pays for the television rights and does not get involved in the running of the competing manufacturers
@  EricW1959 : (24 Oct - 14:43) Caterham formula one has not won a simple Grand Prix point this season which would seem to account for its present problems
@  Spike : (24 Oct - 14:44) And F1 distribute the tv money the same as the PL do, those clubs with the money get the biggest chunk of the tv money.
@  Spike : (24 Oct - 14:45) As soon as Sky get involved there is a wider gap between the haves and have nots.

About whom do you refer Anthony?

no comment

Well at the moment they line the form teams up and we knock them down, alfreton one of the best home records before we went there, smashed.

Gateshead 2nd in the form league with a top away record smashed!

Barnet moved up to second in the form league after we beat Gateshead, not smashed but comprehensive win!

Nice :)

however we have played against teams that didn't have their best player available,

braintree, the striker they had on loan who scored a few goals for them went back to his parent club just before they played us

Gateshead away, the striker they had on loan who scored a few goals for them went back to port vale just before they played us and james marwood was injured

against alfreton jake speight went back to Mansfield shortly before we played them

when we played gateshead at home marwood was not playing again

when we played barnet their top scorer marsh brown was suspended

but im sure we would have won most of those games anyway, today was another good result against a decent side, and we are putting together a good undefeated streak,

Joe, alfreton are the 4th placed team not barnet, they have lost 10 games so far, have only kept 2 clean sheets and have let in 42 goals this season, somebody did say you can still be in the top 5 even with a bad defence i can't remember his name though, so i say good luck to alfreton i hope they go up with us

Crazy, please stab yourself in the eye..... You talk a lot of garbage. You are without doubt Lutons biggest critic. One flew over the cuckoos nest does not come close.

For those of you who were not able to get to Barnet the goals are available to view on the Luton Town web site.

Funny thing you know, I thought that on of Barnet's most creative players was their goalkeeper.

Lovely ball from smith to gray for the first, that just shows the difference in his game this season.

What a strike from lawless for the 2nd, he is on fire

Also a nice ball from Gray across the Benson. A very easy, simple ball to play but last season he would probably have had a wild lash at it in that position and seen it fly off behind for a goal kick.
